A wonderfully detailed vintage German Black Forest 8-day musical chalet cuckoo clock filled with traditional Alpine character and animation.
This substantial chalet features a dramatic deep-pitched roof, half-timbered façade, flower-filled balcony, and a beautifully detailed woodland scene. The lower level includes a woodchopper at his chopping block, large waterwheel, stacked firewood, flowing stream, colorful flowers, a dog, and a small bird perched beside the waterwheel.
Above the dial, traditionally dressed figures stand along the chalet's upper balcony, adding another layer of character to this elaborate Black Forest scene.
Powered by a traditional 8-day mechanical movement, the clock is wound approximately once a week using its pinecone weights. The combination of its substantial chalet case, animated figures, waterwheel, woodchopper, and musical movement makes this a particularly charming example of the classic German chalet cuckoo clock.
